I don't care what day it is - 283.8 lbs

There is always a reason why I start a diet and exercise program...  And once the diet starts working, I tend to forget the reasons I started it.  Good thing, I have this blog thingy.

The reasons I started this year, this January 28th, 2009.  I started at 4pm (Notice I did not wait for the usual Monday morning kick off)

  • My feet ache all the time and the toes feel numb
  • I am sluggish and cannot concentrate
  • I am too tired to do common activities
  • My body aches when I sleep, not letting me sleep more than 2 or 3 hours at a time
  • My feet are swollen most of the time
  • My blood sugar is above the limit in the mornings
  • My blood pressure is in the pre-hypertension area
  • My nose and sinus are always clogged in the mornings

I am not certain these are the the only reasons.. I tend to forget. all I know is I could not stand it anymore.  The problem is, it is SO DIFFICULT.  I hate vegetables, I hate fruit, I hate exercising.. The past 5 days have been such a trial.

The one thing I have not been doing is measuring the foods.  If I am hungry I eat a snack made of fruit or salad.  I hate it but it curbs the appetite if I add corn (I know its a no no the starches)

The main issue is I cannot continue as I was, and it pisses me off!  so many people can live their lives without having to deal with this. 

My main goals right now are

  • Lower morning blood sugar to the acceptable limits (below 110)
  • Lower blood pressure to acceptable levels
  • Get below the 200 lbs mark

The last one is obviously the bigger challenge, and right now I can only handle small tasks..

Choose greener lettuce

I just found out that Iceberg lettude (crisphead) is the LEAST nutritious lettuce of them all.  Rule of thumb, the greener the better.  Romaine lettuce, for example, has 3 more calories but 300% more Beta Carotene! (Total of 16 calories per 2 cup serving)

 
New Year, New Health

This 2008 I need to lose MUCH more than 100 pounds, 140 to be exact.  You'd think the number would go down instead of up!
