| Day 36 - 270.6 pounds - I have made it through 5 weeks |
|
I think this has been the longest time I have been on a diet since 2004. The big issue has been the amount of weigh loss. I usually lose a lot on this diet, but Dr. Miller wrote another book after the initial Hilton Head Metabolism book that was for people "over 35". I thought those rules didn't apply to me, that I would always lose weight as fast as I did before. but NOOO. it has taken 5 weeks to lose 10 pounds.. before I would have already lost 20 to 22 pounds. I am hoping it has to do with other issues like my newfound high blood sugar in the mornings (undiagnosed pre diabetes). I think it is insulin resistance. On the up side my blood pressure is down to 95/65, pulse rate of 69bpm (down from 90+). Today I did get a nice blood sugar reading at 89 before breakfast. My usual is between 107-115. I have been very tired.. I thought I would be less achy by this time too, but not yet. The low blood sugar chills have stopped though, I can go 5 hours between meals with no chills, which is great. I've been reluctant to write in this blog.. even though the purpose of it was to help me write out my frustrations and celebrate my victories.. but in the beginning I was so angry that I actually had to diet (I had decided to leave it be and just live out my life obese). I still am angry, pissed off really, but I can't move, I cant sleep properly, I cant walk without pain. I cant do my job properly. To top it off, its been a hell of a couple of weeks, very stressful. Anyway, Ive lost about 10 pounds (I did not weigh myself the first week, because I was just pissed and knew I had to be on this diet a LONG time) I have lost about two inches in several places (thighs, waist, chest). My next measuring is next friday. I might post images then. |
